[OSENWORLD] (G)I-DLE’s Yuqi has made an explosive solo debut, claiming No.1 spots across major platforms in China, Korea, and beyond.
Her first single Motivation, released on Sept. 16, immediately soared to the top of China’s biggest music platforms QQ Music and Kugou Music, topping their daily Digital Album Best-Seller charts. Both the title track “M.O.” and pre-release song “I’m Hurt” also ranked high on QQ Music’s comprehensive music video chart, underscoring her explosive popularity with Chinese fans.
In Korea, Yuqi’s success continued. “M.O.” reached No.1 on Bugs’ real-time chart, while both “M.O.” and “I’m Hurt” entered Melon’s HOT100 (30-day) chart, showcasing her momentum as a solo artist.
On the global stage, “M.O.” topped iTunes charts in eight countries, while “I’m Hurt” charted in two, demonstrating Yuqi’s growing global resonance.
Musically, “M.O.” showcases Yuqi’s distinctive artistry. Rooted in 1990s boom bap hip-hop, the self-written track conveys raw energy and instinctual drive. Its message: intuition and self-belief are the forces that propel her forward.
Yuqi will bring Motivation to the stage for the first time on Sept. 18 with a broadcast performance on Mnet’s M Countdown.
