[OSENWORLD] Fans of When Life Gives You Tangerines were treated to a heartwarming reunion between IU and her young co-star Kim Tae-yeon.
The two actresses, who played Ae-soon at different ages in the hit Netflix series — IU as the young adult version and Kim Tae-yeon as the child — reunited during IU’s 2025 IU FAN MEET-UP [Bye, Summer], held at Seoul’s KSPO Dome on Sept. 13–14.
Photos shared on social media by Kim Tae-yeon’s mother showed the young actress standing shoulder to shoulder with IU, both flashing bright smiles. IU made a cheek-heart gesture while looking at Kim warmly, creating a moment that felt just as heartwarming as the drama that first connected them.
Kim Tae-yeon’s mother wrote, “Tae-yeon was so touched and emotional after meeting her unnie that she felt like crying throughout the concert… It was truly a happy time!” Kim herself expressed heartfelt admiration, saying, “Unnie, you were so amazing. You’re so beautiful. I love you, IU unnie.”
Their reunion added to the warm atmosphere of IU’s fan meeting, which drew about 20,000 fans over two days. Known for her generosity and kindness toward younger peers, IU showed once again why she is beloved not only for her music but also for her sincerity offstage.
Looking ahead, IU is set to return to the small screen next year in the upcoming MBC drama 21st Century Grand Prince, her first TV role since When Life Gives You Tangerines.
