[OSENWORLD] NewJeans may not be actively promoting, but their music continues to dominate globally.

On Sept. 17, Spotify confirmed that the group’s debut single Attention surpassed 500 million streams as of Sept. 15, reaching 500,076,255 plays. This marks NewJeans’ fifth track to cross the half-billion threshold, proving their staying power even without active promotions.

Originally released in August 2022 as one of the triple title tracks from their debut EP New Jeans, Attention remains one of the group’s most defining songs. With its sleek, rhythmic intro, sophisticated beats, and the members’ refreshing vocals, the track quickly went viral upon release, sweeping domestic and international charts and sparking a global sensation. Its cool yet energetic performance style continues to resonate with fans worldwide.

The achievement adds to NewJeans’ already impressive Spotify record. To date, they have 15 tracks that have surpassed 100 million streams each: OMG and Ditto (800M+), Super Shy (700M+), Hype Boy (600M+), Attention (500M+), New Jeans (400M+), ETA (300M+), Cookie, Hurt, Cool With You, and How Sweet (200M+), along with ASAP, Get Up, Supernatural, and Bubble Gum (100M+).

Altogether, NewJeans’ catalog has amassed more than 6.7 billion streams on Spotify, underscoring their unrivaled influence as one of K-pop’s leading global acts — even during periods of inactivity.
